Meet Martha
When Martha was brought to us, she was just a child 16 years old.
Her family wanted her to work as a maid. After that, they wanted to marry her off. No school. No childhood. No choice.
Alone and heartbroken, Martha would run to the graveyard where her mother was buried. There she would cry and ask, "Mother, why did you die? I have no one to help me get an education, and not be forced into marriage."
PFA stepped in.
We said no. She is not a bride. She is a girl with a future.
Today, Martha is safe. Went to school. She is healing. And she is dreaming again.
This is why we walk. This is why we fight.
Every girl deserves to be a child first.
